Recently added to our website is wonderful lumanist painting of a passing summer storm by John Williamson painted in 1866. Also an allegorical symbolist work by Marcuis-Simons in an unusual unique frame we attribute to Stanford White. We are also showing a stately American Bracket clock by the makers Effingham Embree and Thomas Pearsall who ran a joint venture in the 1780's in New York. The White House has a clock in their collection that is virtually identical. Finally we are featuring two bronzes of African animals by sculptors who acted as artists in residence and designers for the American Museum of Natural History, Carl Ethan Akeley and James Lippitt Clark. We are showing "Stung" by Akeley and "Charging Rhino" by Clark. Both of these artists traveled to Africa with expeditions led by the Museum.

Post Road Gallery is Westchester County's finest antique shop and art gallery. We have operated on the same block in Larchmont since 1952. During that time we have been a source to Museums and fine collectors of American art and objects of the 19th Century. This web site only represent a small portion our inventory.

PRG specializes in 19th Century American Art and Antiques. We are particularly fond of American genre and Hudson River School works, neo-classical marble statuary and late Victorian, Renaissance Revival and Aesthetic Period Decorative Arts. We also have a special interest in fine antique clocks and timepieces
