Post Road Gallery Fine American Paintings Phillips painted iconic folk art portraiture in the border region of New York, Connecticut and Massachusettes. His career spanned almost five decades and he was quite prolific. In 1848 Phillips painted numerous works his cousins, the Kinney family. Nisus Kinney was also portrayed holding the Hartford Times but the date on that work was June 24, 1848. |
