New York, Circa 1884 Rosewood, Inlays of various woods cooper and nickel Size: 85 inches high, 59 wide, 18 deep In 1889 an identical cabinet was given to the Metropolitan Museum in New York by Charles Tisch. It still resides there and was exhibited in "19th Century America", the landmark show from 1970. In an accompanying letter Tisch wrote that the piece, "received the first prize at the New Orleans Exposition (18)84/85.
