This lamp has a wonderful whimsical example of victorian/aesthetic decoration. It is symbolic of good luck. The card reciever tray is horse shoe shaped and flanked by seven silvered pyramids. Both the horseshoe and the number seven are symbolic of good luck. Possibly good luck will be bestowed on those leaving their cards in this tray. With the equestrian theme and the strenght of the lucky 7 pyramid power we feel this lamp will best be placed in the lobby of a race track or in the home of a horse owner.
A short history of Bradley and Hubbard and their metalwork was written up by the Smithsonian Institution and can be read on their website.
