Corsini was a Marine Portraitist who worked in the port city of Smyrna in western Turkey. The Peabody Museum in Salem, Massachusetts has 15 works by the artist, all of American sailing vessels. It is quite unusual to have an American ship seen in a portrait in a Turkish port. What's more it is very interesting that it is such and early work.
