A charming 19th Century New York topographical view, This painting shows the intersection of Greenwich Street and Front Street as it looked in Hempstead in 1869. The two church spires in the background are of St. George's Episcopal Church and The United Methodist Church. While this intersection looks different today, both churches are still extant and apparently unchanged.

Another painting by Evers of the same street corner, virtually identical but with a few changed elements, was Illustrated in "Long Island Landscape Painting, 1820 - 1920" by Ronald Pisano, 1985.
