| John Wilmerding in "Important Information Inside, The Art of John Peto" notes how Hope's work was very close to Peto's in subject matter and often in quality. There is also a possible family link between the two artists that was at the writing of his book still somewhat ambiguous. Peto's father's name was Thomas Hope Peto and his brother was Thomas Hope Jr. As Wilmerding said, " Hope's name and work are close enough to Peto to warrant more than summary dismissal." (Page 75) We Agree. |
