The New York Historical Society has just resurrected it's major painting by Louis Lang, "The Return of the 69th Regiment". It is the centerpiece of the Societynew exhibition "Making American Taste: Narrative Art for a New Democracy". In concert with this we are featuring a pair of paintings by Louis Lang also of New York interest. Finally we are featuring two bronzes of African animals by sculptors who acted as artists in residence and designers for the American Museum of Natural History, Carl Ethan Akeley and James Lippitt Clark. We are showing "Stung" by Akeley and "Charging Rhino" by Clark. Both of these artists traveled to Africa with expeditions led by the Museum.

Post Road Gallery is Westchester County's finest antique shop and art gallery. We have operated on the same block in Larchmont since 1952. During that time we have been a source to Museums and fine collectors of American art and objects of the 19th Century. This web site only represent a small portion our inventory.

PRG specializes in 19th Century American Art and Antiques. We are particularly fond of American genre and Hudson River School works, neo-classical marble statuary and late Victorian, Renaissance Revival and Aesthetic Period Decorative Arts. We also have a special interest in fine antique clocks and timepieces
