David Lithgow did illustrations and mural work, specializing in New York and Iroquois subjects. He did historical mural work in various public buildings in Albany group and did a series of murals for the 1939 New York World's fair.
Henry Hudson sailed for America in April of 1609 to find the North-West Passage. Instead he found New York Harbor and sailed up to Albany on what is now called the Hudson River. This painting helps illustrate the historic expedition as we rethink it on it's 400th anniversary.
