This clock is to be suspended from a ceiling.
Tiffany's clockmaker's log book states that this piece was made for Louis Sherry whose address it lists as 5th Ave and 44th Street. This was the address of Sherry's Hotel, then new McKim Mead and White building that was to become a banquet hall of unrivaled grandeur and elegance.
