John Rogers is well known for his sculpted American gernre groups. The majority of these were cast in plaster and painted. Popular in their day they are often seen in photographs of finely decorated 19th century interiors. A small number of these pieces were cast in bronze, parian and creamware. "Rogers Groups" in these types of castings are choice in detail and desirability.
